Demand for online bookings and mobile spurs growth at Europe’s restaurant reservations and marketing leader
Livebookings, the market leader in real-time reservations and online marketing services for restaurants, today announces that its scalable SaaS solution has now processed a record 20 million covers, as consumer demand for online and mobile reservations continues to surge.
The 20 millionth cover was booked as part of a party of 6 enjoying a birthday meal at Jamie’s Italian in Reading. The reservation itself was made on Livebookings’ consumer restaurant reservations website, Bookatable. As Europe’s fastest growing restaurant booking site, Bookatable receives 450,000 monthly visitors and boasts 215 per cent year on year growth. The highest performing site in Livebookings partner network, Bookatable generates new customers and incremental revenue for the restaurants it works with. As part of the celebrations Bookatable will be footing the bill for the special celebratory meal.
With over 9,000 restaurants now using Livebookings, a record 2.6 million diners booked in the quarter ending June 2011 alone. This figure represents 100 per cent growth compared to the same period a year ago, and an increase of 12 per cent sequentially from Q1 2011.
The Livebookings reservations system, which includes reservations processed from restaurants’ own websites, as well as reservations made on Livebookings’ consumer reservations website, Bookatable, and the Livebookings partner network - now generates over 1 million covers per month. Given the recent growth trends, the organisation is predicting to hit the next landmark of 30 million covers within the next 6 months.
In addition, there has been a rapid increase in the number of restaurant bookings made on mobile devices by over 8% since the start of the year, indicating changing consumer behaviours and the desire to research and book restaurants on the move.
Jason Ridout, Operations Director at Jamie’s Italian says: “It’s fantastic news that Livebookings’ 20 millionth cover will be enjoying a celebratory meal at our restaurant and even better that it’s on the house!”
Colin Tenwick, CEO of Livebookings, says, “We’re delighted to have achieved record growth this quarter and to have reached the 20 million covers landmark. It’s clear that even during tough economic times, restaurants are looking at how they can use technology to drive their business forward. Our proven track record of delivering predictable increased profits for restaurants means our 9,000 plus customer base out-strips our nearest competitor by more than 40%. With enormous growth potential in Europe and the US, we look forward to more success stories and further expansion in the future.”
